We fell in love with this charming bungalow as soon as we saw it. Taking advantage of an attractive and secluded setting at the end of a private close, everything about it indicates careful planning and great attention to detail, while its location at Lakeside makes it an excellent starting point for a wide variety of excursions and activities.
Leading in all directions a network of roads and pretty lanes serves this southern end of the lake, walks abound nearby, the lake steamers sail north to Bowness and Ambleside (offering stress-free travel while one admires the magnificent scenery), the National Trust's Fellfoot Park is a brief ferry boat ride away across the lake and ideal for children, and a host of historic houses and other attractions are less than half an hour's drive away. Several local hostelries offer excellent meals, and a 'garage shop' a little over a mile away sells most of the staple items, with a supermarket and a selection of smaller shops in the nearest market town of Ulverston.
The accommodation at Nutwood comprises - front entrance lobby with space for coats and boots, spacious inner hall (large enough to take a playpen), large and airy sitting room with wood burning stove and patio doors onto a balcony, dining-kitchen with a fine range of fittings and equipment and door to the conservatory and thence into the garden, very pleasant conservatory which is a pleasant place to eat or just read a book, three good-sized bedrooms, pretty bathroom, very pleasant garden with patio, garage for one medium sized car, parking..
