This enchanting little 'gingerbread' house will surely capture your hearts as it has ours. Like a doll's house that has stepped straight out of a fairytale; it perches, prettily framed by trees, on a rocky ledge above the lane leading out of Grasmere towards Easedale Tarn, and is blessed with a fine view across the valley towards Heron Pike.
Approached from the lane by a flight of stone steps, and clearly visible from afar as it clings to the hillside and peeps from its leafy bower, it is less than a hundred yards from the village centre; and is a familiar feature to many who walk the Easedale Road. Timber built, extremely well insulated and shielded from the bustle of the village by its own sheltering rockface, and snug with central heating, its is surprisingly spacious inside - very attractively furnished and generously equipped. Outside there is a roomy sitting out area ideal for enjoying the view (and for quietly observing the passers-by), while at the foot of the steps there is one private parking space for a medium sized car.
