Found just off the centre of the pedestrianised village of Hawkshead, well known as one of the prettiest places to stay and visit in the Lake District. The beautiful Victorian building dates back to 1883, originally housing the old courthouse and cells and a number of the original features have been retained during conversion, and with the addition of up-to-date modern facilities, tasteful furnishings and an abundance of personal touches, including an interesting selection of police memorabilia, Sergeant Man will not fail to delight couples of all ages. This special holiday hideaway is an all year round winner, with cosy log burning stove for romantic winter evenings in, and a sunny basket balcony affording beautiful views. The picturesque village of Hawkshead makes a good central base to explore the whole area, or take advantage of the abundance of walking opportunities, many which can be enjoys straight from your door. The centre of the village is host to an excellent selection of country pubs serving tempting traditional fayre and real ales, and all only a stone’s throw from the cottage. The accommodation comprises; entrance hall with space for walking clobber, and useful ground floor cloakroom with WC and wash basin. Mealtimes can only be a pleasure in the most attractive and spacious dining / kitchen, fitted with natural woods, slate floor and pine dining furniture. Stairs to the first floor and the cosy and bright lounge with French windows opening to a small balcony and enjoying wonderful outlook towards the Fairfield Horseshoe and Latterbarrow. The lounge is complete with lovely furnishings and warming woodburner. Upstairs again to the second floor with king size bedroom, more super views and the bathroom.
