What a dreamy, glorious setting; we found this delightful cottage alongside the River Rothay amidst the vale of Grasmere with simply breathtaking views in every direction.
The cottage built of Lakeland stone has been sympathetically extended and modernised whilst still retaining the charm and character of the original building. Located formerly in the grounds of a nearby Gentleman’s Residence we find it hard to exude correctly our enthusiasm to the wonderful setting. Inside the split level cottage blends old world characterful Lakeland charm with modern 21st century. The main living room together with every other room boasts true picture windows. Needless to say walks are in abundance in every direction, where here in the Lake District walking is hard to beat. Once your car is parked you never need use it again as Grasmere has a wealth of excellent shops, pubs and eating out places, all circumscribed by this seductive valley. If searching for your piece of true Lakeland with views which will stay with you long after you leave, then Rowan Studio Cottage is perfect.
The accommodation comprises; an open entrance porch leads into the well equipped kitchen, step down into the lounge/dining room and gaze at the views towards Stone Arthur and the Fairfield range, this lovely lounge boasts a plethora of old oak beams and a Minstrel’s gallery. A short flight of steps leads to the two bedrooms; the double with en-suite shower room and the twin has its own bathroom. There is also the patio / garden ideal for meals and drinks al fresco.
