Wow what a find! This centrally located sumptuous Lakeland boutique town house is quite simply luxurious in every sense of the word. A place of luxury is one where every detail is taken care of and Mr Harvisons certainly lives up to its reputation. . .
Aptly named this outwardly appearing old world character cottage, handsomely nestles in the heart of a conservation area leading towards Kirkstone Pass, yet only a stone’s throw from the village centre and christened in memory of the locally well known and respected Mr Harvison. Ambleside itself is quite the cosmopolitan village life in the Lake District, brimming with mouthwatering restaurants, local bars and a variety of local shops. Step foot inside, relax and soak up the effortless blending of Lakeland cottage charm with 21st century indulgencies, certainly combining the most desirable elements of gracious living, contemporary mood and ultra sophistication. Lavish furnishings set on oak, slate and carpeted floors, old oak beams, chic bedrooms, sleek bathrooms, designer kitchen, old inglenook ‘Queen Anne’ open fire, curved bay window and much, much more, create atmospheric calm – this is a place to spend precious time together. If searching for a central yet flawless Lakeland cottage jewel then we think you will agree Mr Harvisons really captures the very best of them.
The accommodation comprises; the prettily conserved courtyard entrance shows off the seating area with outside furniture – a great place for breakfast on a sunny day. Entrance through the bothy, your first glimpse of sumptuous Mr Harvisons. The bothy is a quiet escape from the house overlooking the courtyard; a staircase leads down to the lower split level ground floor; a stylish open plan living space cascading with Lakeland light on both sides of the room including a curved bay window. The elegant mix of Laura Ashley and Farrow & Ball with contemporary finish begins in this spacious area. Old oak and slate and sumptuous furnishings are mood lit. The warming open fire is a must for romantic evenings – the open plan kitchen/dining area has it all. Back upstairs to the bothy level is a luxurious bathroom where old Victorian meets 21st century, why don’t we all have a modern double ended roll top bath? Also at this level is the ‘Green Room’, each bedroom is sublime and seductive with its own theme and this room displays a magnificent king size brass bed and is complete with luxury en-suite. A galleried landing and staircase takes you up a level to the ‘Blue Room’, similar in every way to the ‘Green Room’ but with a roof top view over the village to our famous fells. The ‘Black and White Room’ features black iron twin beds … of course!
