This peaceful country setting is only a mile from Near Sawrey, with pub, hotel and excellent country store and the car ferry, which takes you to popular Bowness, is only a short distance. “Picture postcard” Hawkshead is also nearby and here you are in fabulous walking territory. If searching for somewhere special, whether you are a romantic couple, 2-3 couples or a family, Waterbarrow delivers it all.
The accommodation comprises: having parked your car/s in your own private slate shaled driveway and stepped foot inside, you are instantly marveled; what an impressive entrance hall to a beautiful property. Reception rooms lead off; the drawing room boasts a bay window with superb view, window seat, sumptuous seating and open fire, an open thick walled entrance takes you into the dining area, more wonderful views and perfect for gatherings; the sophisticated kitchen has everything you need, flooded in Lakeland light. The second lounge also boasts a bay window and that view. This level of the house is ingeniously open plan yet “topsey turvey”, light and quirky all in one; the mix of 2 woodburners and an open fire, mood lighting and sheer attention to detail in an architect designed house ensures this is a place to totally relax, unwind and recharge. A spatial flow Victorian staircase leads to the first floor landing and from here on the views get even better. Out of the 3 bedrooms on this level it is hard to say which one we like the best; the antique French furniture king size bedroom is stunning with gorgeous en-suite, but the king size with wonderful balcony has to be seen and experienced. The main bathroom is a place to truly pamper… why can’t we all have a bathroom like this? A staircase leads down from the living level to the spacious sauna and wet room – an absolute must for all who stay here. The gardens are a delightful and magical feature with seating and superb views.
