Within the sleepy hamlet of Torver and found at the head of a long private driveway alongside a beautiful original ‘Bank Barn’, now converted into 3 self catering cottages and the owner’s fine home, to help ensure a special personal touch.
This beautiful original farmhouse is steeped in history, circumscribed by “Swallows & Amazons” territory. All this history and character are evident here blending effortlessly with modern day sophistication making this Lakeland residence somewhere ideal for large families. The mixture of slate flagged floors, picture sash windows with working shutters and an open fire are complimented by comfortable furnishings, 21st century bathrooms and farmhouse style kitchen. Needless to say walks are tremendous straight from your door here and Coniston village is a short two mile drive away for everything you may need. The hamlet of Torver boasts two excellent pubs serving tempting bar food and real ales, only 500yds walk away. If searching for a relaxing Lakeland ‘getaway from it all holiday’, in this beautiful corner of England, then you will find Brocklebank House hard to beat.
The accommodation comprises; entrance hall with slate flagged floor, lounge with comfortable furnishings and picture sash window and don’t forget the open fire. The formal dining room also boasts the outlook. There is a second lounge to escape to and a useful wet room / shower room with WC and wash basin. ( Please note that the wet room will not be available until January 2009 but there is a 3rd WC and wash basin until then) The farmhouse kitchen has a warming Aga, said to be the heart of any home and this room also has a breakfast table for less formal dining. Upstairs are the 5 bedrooms and house bathroom, one of the bedrooms also has an en-suite shower room. Outside is the pretty garden with raised patio to relax and enjoy the views.
