This magnificent residence was built in 1827 by the locally renowned architect George Webster and now provides a magical retreat set within its own 12 acre wooded valley, with gardens and lake.
Situated 4 miles from the Southern end of Lake Windermere, Eller How House is a place to get away from the every-day, relax and spend precious time together. There are walks from your doorstep and you can wander through the woodland to climb the fell and take in the breath taking views in every direction.
Steamers depart from Lakeside on a regular basis to popular village destinations such as Bowness and Ambleside. (an absolute must during your stay)
Meanwhile back at your Regency home you may prefer to hide away and never leave the grounds - wander by the lake on a warm evening and relax in the summer house with its sea view.
The poet and artist Edward Lear stayed here in 1836.

The accommodation comprises; a wing of a splendid Regency House with its own long private driveway, passing the lake and leading to courtyard parking. Entrance into large hallway with coat rack, leading into superb well equipped kitchen/dining room, full of light. There is a separate utility room. An inner hallway leads to two bedrooms with ensuite facilities and a boiler room. Upstairs on the first floor there is a spacious drawing room with an ornate plasterwork ceiling and beautiful outlook over the garden, lawn and lake. Deep cushioned sofas set the calming atmosphere by the roaring log fire. The master bedroom is on this level with its interesting plasterwork features and balcony, a perfect place for a pre dinner glass or two!
