Members of the Lakelovers team are set to abseil a 89 foot building – that’s bigger than the White House!

Some members of our local Lakelovers team are set to take on the huge challenge of abseiling an 89 foot building on the 19th May. The participants are all taking on this challenge to fundraise for our local chosen charity partner Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team.

Matt, Alicia, Carol and Karen have been fundraising for weeks in advance to help raise money for the charity. The abseil is organised by our parent company Sykes Holiday Cottages – and the building chosen to abseil from is the company’s head office base in Chester.

Amongst the 4 members of the Lakes team taking part, there is also 56 other colleagues partaking in the abseil. Employees from all over the UK will be making the journey to Chester to abseil off the building.

Some of the participants of the abseil have height phobias and old injuries – so wish them luck!

The event is being run by Event Abseil, who specialise in running abseils at businesses and charities to help fundraise.

The chosen charity, Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue, offers daily support and help to rescue and save lives in the Lake District.

The rescue team handles over 100 incidents per year and is a completely self-funded team of ‘professional volunteers’. The charity works tirelessly, operating 24 hours a day throughout the year.  They ensure that people exploring the Lake District can do so safely, helping immediately if any incidents occur.

The Lake District is the busiest mountain area in Britain, so it is great to have the assistance and support of this knowledgeable team.

The Lakelovers team will be fundraising for this charity all year, to donate to this great charity you can do so here. The team is grateful for any donations!
