After five weeks of refurbishment the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness will be re-opening to the public on Saturday 9th February. The life of Beatrix Potter and the tales of Peter Rabbit will be brought to us in the all new Virtual World of Beatrix Potter exhibition. Both adults and children will be able to enjoy this new exhibition which includes a 55 inch high-definition MultiTouch table. Here visitors can enjoy 360 degree panoramic views of the Lake District, whilst finding out their associations with Beatrix Potter’s books and children will also be able to get involved playing puzzles and painting games on the table.
Alongside this the team have created a vast archive of historical information which will be presented on six HD screens displaying a rolling timeline of Beatrix Potter’s life and works. This historical material is being made available for the first time in the attraction’s 21 year history. In addition over the Easter period the attraction will also be showing the brand new Peter Rabbit animations, as seen on the BBC over Christmas.
Reopening in time for the half-term holidays, the attraction welcomes old and new visitors to experience the exciting digital exhibit and enjoy the newly refurbished facilities. In addition, on Friday 15 February, children can enjoy all this and more at one of Peter Rabbit’s hugely popular Tea Parties including the chance to meet Peter Rabbit and ‘Beatrix Potter’, have a delicious party lunch, hear favourite stories and take a tour of the Attraction. Tickets are £7.50 per child and £11 per adult – pre booking is essential.
