Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kendalcalling.co.uk\/\">Kendal Calling 2023<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong>27<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 30<sup>th<\/sup> July 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Held annually on the ground of Lowther Deer Park is the much-loved music festival Kendal Calling. Showcasing music and art from across the world, Kendal Calling Is easily one of our favourites of the Lake Districts events.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4937 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lakelovers.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2022\/11\/Crowds-with-their-hands-in-the-air-at-a-music-festival-1.jpg\" alt=\"Crowds with their hands in the air at a music festival\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Taking place between the 27<sup>th<\/sup> and 30<sup>th<\/sup> of July, there are weekend and individual day tickets available for Kendal Calling 2023. On-site camping is available, as well as a designated bus service running from Penrith Railway Station.<\/p>\n<p>Yet to be confirmed, the star-studded line up has previously included Snoop Dogg, Blondie, Noel Gallagher, and Calvin Harris.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s also comedy shows, cinema screenings and a peaceful woodland garden. Licenced bars and food vendors will be on hand for all your catering needs!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lakelandretreats.com\/events\/keswick-outdoor-market\/\">Keswick Market<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Saturdays Weekly &amp; Thursdays (between Feb-Dec)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Held each Saturday, the Keswick outdoor Market is amongst the towns most loved attractions. Once voted the \u2018Best Outdoor Market in the UK\u2019, it\u2019s easy to see why.<\/p>\n<p>Over 70 stalls find themselves scattered through the streets of Keswick, each brimming with fresh, local produce, crafts, and homeware.<\/p>\n<p>Between February and December, the Keswick Market takes place twice a week. Be sure to visit on a Thursday or a Saturday, where you can pick up a keepsake or some tasty treats.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Fell Foot Parkrun<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Every Saturday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the most popular Lake District running events, Parkrun is a free weekly 5km race. Held amongst the stunning greenery of Fell Foot Park, Parkrun is a wonderful way to take in the sights of this picture-perfect area of the Lake District.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4938 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lakelovers.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2022\/11\/A-low-shot-of-runners-shoes-mid-run-1.jpg\" alt=\"A low shot of runners shoes mid run\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The beauty of Parkrun is you can complete the distance running, jogging, or walking. If you\u2019re not keen to participate, you can volunteer or spectate!<\/p>\n<p>This popular running event in the Lake District starts at 9am every Saturday, beginning and ending at the National Trust\u2019s Fell Foot.<\/p>\n<p>For the competitors amongst us, there\u2019s chipped timing, and for the sociable type, there\u2019s post-run coffee at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationaltrust.org.uk\/visit\/lake-district\/fell-foot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fell Foot Boathouse Caf\u00e9<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Screenings at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatrebythelake.com\/whats-on\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Theatre by the Lake<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Daily Showings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Situated on the shores of Derwentwater, a visit to the Theatre by the Lake is a must. If you\u2019re looking to see what\u2019s on in Cumbria, then look no further. You\u2019ll find the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatrebythelake.com\/plan-your-visit\/food-and-drink-2\/\">Lakeside Caf\u00e9 Restaurant<\/a> next door, serving a delicious menu of nibbles and main meals.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/action.org.uk\/events\/team-challenges\/race-the-sun-lake-district-keswick\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Race the Sun 2023<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong>9<sup>th<\/sup> September<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One for the adrenalin-junkies, Race the Sun is an action-packed Triathlon-style challenge. Taking place amongst the stunning scenery of the National Park, the aim is to finish the challenge before sun set.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll take on cycling, hiking, and canoeing in teams of two or four. No experience is essential, however keep in mind that this is a physically challenging day of activity.<\/p>\n<p>The registration fee is \u00a3198 for groups of four and \u00a399 for groups of two, with team fundraising targets of \u00a31,900 and \u00a3950.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.skiddle.com\/festivals\/solfest\/\">Solfest 2023<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong>24<sup>th<\/sup>&#8211; 27<sup>th<\/sup> August<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This award-winning family-friendly music and art festival takes place over August Bank Holiday weekend. There&#8217;s also child, teenager, adult and family tickets.<\/p>\n<p>The Solfest 2023 line up includes The Charlatans, The Zutons and a DJ set from Pendulum. \u00a0There\u2019s also fairground rides, art and craft classes and a wealth of food and drink vendors.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s parking available on-site for caravans and campervans, along with pre-pitched glamping pods and ample space available for camping.<\/p>\n<p>For an added touch of luxury, there\u2019s also priority showers and posh loos, ideal for those who aren\u2019t avid campers.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitcumbria.com\/events\/cockermouth-indoor-sunday-market-and-car-boot-2022-07-24\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cockermouth Indoor Market and Car Boot<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Every Sunday\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Home to the largest indoor market in Cumbria, this weekly Lake District event is one of the counties most popular. When you&#8217;re looking at what&#8217;s on in Cumbria, the Cockermouth indoor market and car boot is something you&#8217;ll be happy to add to your itinerary!<\/p>\n<p>Taking place every Sunday, the market regularly hosts up to 230 traders across the food market, the makers market and the car boot.<\/p>\n<p>You can expect to peruse stalls of fresh, locally-grown goods, homecooked foods, quirky crafts and artwork, all sourced from local farmers and producers.<\/p>\n<p>And what&#8217;s better, the market is sheltered from the elements, making this Lake District event perfect for a rainy day!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BownessBayBlues\/?locale=en_GB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bowness Bay Blues Festival 2023<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong>31<sup>st<\/sup> March \u2013 2<sup>nd<\/sup> April<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4941 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lakelovers.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2022\/11\/A-saxaphone-playing-into-a-microphone-on-stage-1.jpg\" alt=\"A saxaphone playing into a microphone on stage\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On our list of what&#8217;s on in Cumbria in 2023, the Bowness Bay Blues Festival is one for the music lovers. The 11th annual festival, this is one not to be missed!<\/p>\n<p>This charitable Lake District event sees live blues music played across a number of local venues in the lakeside town of Bowness.<\/p>\n<p>Robin Bibi, Sparky and The Wailer and the James Oliver Band are amongst the 27 bands making up the three-day line up. There&#8217;s even a live performance from Grammy award-winning musician Alvin Youngblood.<\/p>\n<p>Offering a truly memorable experience, a two-hour Blues Cruise steamer will depart onto Lake Windermere from Pier No.1 on the Saturday. Climb aboard and enjoy the delights of blues amongst the spectacular scenery of the heart of the National Park.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/keswickmountainfestival.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Keswick Mountain Festival<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong><sup><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">19<\/span>th <\/sup>&#8211; 21<sup>st<\/sup> may 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Renowned for its spectacular rolling landscape, it&#8217;s no surprise that visitors flock to the Lake District to attend the Keswick Mountain Festival.<\/p>\n<p>A popular Lake District running event, the Keswick Mountain Festival is one for the fitness enthusiasts. Participate in trail running, open water swimming, cycling or hiking. If you&#8217;re up for the challenge, there&#8217;s even a number of triathlons to take part in.<\/p>\n<p>In a unique twist, there&#8217;s an Adidas Terrex stand where you can test out some of their most popular trail-running trainers. And after competing in your favourite sport you can quench your thirst at the Durty Brewing, Moon &amp; Sixpence or Canny Coffee stall.<\/p>\n<p>If outdoor escapades aren&#8217;t your thing, there&#8217;s plenty of live music and on-site entertainment to enjoy.
