Follow the stairs up to the wonderful open-plan living space situated on the first floor, with large feature windows and a door leading out to the stunning balcony with furniture to relax on. Enjoy drinks in the sun in the summer months out on the balcony or keep warm from the cold in winter lounging on the sofas while a favourite film plays on the TV. Gather at the dining table for special occasions and delicious home-cooked meals, with a kitchen equipped with everything you need to rustle up your favourite dishes, and a handy dishwasher to help clean up. Keswick town centre is a simple and fairly flat stroll away, bringing you to a host of shops and supermarkets for all your essentials, along with local businesses to browse and a market which occurs twice a week. Delight in relaxing evenings spent wining and dining in one of the local bistros or restaurants, or choose a traditional pub for a hearty meal, Keswick has plenty of choice. The local history can be found in Keswick Museum and Derwent Pencil Museum, whilst a walk out to Castlerigg Stone Circle will bring you in the midst of a truly atmospheric monument dating back to 3000BC. Near to this historic site is a newer attraction, Keswick Climbing Wall, perfect for a rainy day, while a host of outdoor activities can be enjoyed in the area too, from watersports like paddle boarding and canoeing to adventure activities like rock-climbing and abseiling. Embark on a leisurely stroll along the shores of Derwentwater, or take a scenic cruise exploring all the bays as well as the National Trust's Derwent Island House, with boat hire, canoeing and kayaking all options too. This walker's paradise is bursting with excellent peaks and routes to explore, with Blencathra and Skiddaw both within reach by foot from your doorstep, and plenty more places within easy driving distance. The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater.
