“The main issue we had was with a broken travel cot which caused unnecessary stress on our arrival as we were concerned our baby would not have a safe place to sleep meaning another had to be sourced from an hour away.”

The issue was resolved promptly by the outcome of hours support team however a quick check of the cot prior to our arrival to ensure it was safe for use would have helped the situation. The high chair supplied was also dirty so had to be properly cleaned down before use. We were disappointed in some aspects of the condition of the property. For example, scratches on the sofa as another reviewer had mentioned and the rug in the living room being a little dirty. The kitchen amenities were good eg dishwasher and coffee machine however we were unable to find any instructions on how to operate them which would be handy as the dishwasher was quite complicated to put on. Another thing we were disappointed with was the lack of supplies/cleaning materials in the property. For example no bleach or wipes for the bathroom or kitchen. Washing up liquid, hand soap and toilet roll was provided but all were almost ran out and we couldn't locate any replacements within the property. This was fine as we were only staying for 3 nights but we'd have had to replace them ourselves if staying longer. I understand these supplementary items aren't stated as included within the property listing however small items provided like this ensure a more comfortable stay. The large living space was excellent and the beds very comfortable but in general, we thought the property was a little tired, requires a refresh and not as clean as we would have liked for how much we paid for our 3 day stay.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We really appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue to improve the experience for future guests. We are sorry to hear about the issue with the travel cot on arrival. As you can appreciate, if the previous guests did not report any damage, this is unfortunately not something we would have been aware of prior to your stay. That said, we fully recognise the importance of this item and apologise for the stress caused. We are pleased our Out of Hours team were able to resolve this promptly for you. Regarding the high chair, we would always hope that guests leave items as they find them, and we are sorry this was not the case on this occasion. We will ensure it is thoroughly cleaned ahead of future stays. In relation to the sofa, as this is a dog-friendly property, we do occasionally see wear where guests may not fully adhere to the house rules around pets being kept off the furniture. We appreciate this can affect presentation and will arrange for the leather sofa to be treated accordingly. For the kitchen appliances, instructions are provided within the drawer as referenced in the property information. We will review how clearly this is signposted to ensure it is easier to locate for future guests. The coffee machine is not a standard supplied item, having been left by a previous guest, so we are unfortunately unable to provide specific guidance for its use. As a self-catering property, we provide a small welcome supply of essentials to get your stay underway. We understand your comments regarding additional cleaning products and will take this on board, although guests should expect to purchase further items for longer stays. We also appreciate your broader feedback regarding the condition of the property. Due to the high demand and strong occupancy levels at Keswick Loft, there is limited opportunity for extended downtime; however, we are currently planning a refresh and redecoration following the peak season. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the spacious living area and found the beds comfortable, and we do hope that despite the points raised, you were still able to enjoy your time at the property. Thank you again for your feedback. Property Owner
