The property

Situated in the residential area, just a few minutes' walk from the centre of Keswick, Number Twenty is a tastefully refurbished Victorian Lakeland slate terrace house. Benefiting from ample parking for four cars, five en-suite bedrooms, two log burning stoves and a large patio this excellent property offers great accommodation in easy reach of the popular shops, bars, cafes and pubs to be found around the market square in the heart of Keswick. Number Twenty offers quality accommodation, in a great location and is ideally suited to that special family get together or a great base for friends to catch up. Please note we can not accept bookings for Hen or Stag parties. == Accommodation In Detail Approached from the street through the small front garden, the front door opens to a vestibule which in turn leads to a large Victorian Hallway complete with original tiled floor, period features, coat hooks and boot rack. The two reception rooms have been opened up to make one large dual aspect lounge but with feature doors the room can be divided in order to make two smaller lounges each with its own TV and log burning stove. The large kitchen diner is located at the rear of the property. The dining area is made up of character pews around a large farmhouse table and a side door from here opens onto the large patio with outdoor dining furniture and gated access to the parking area. The contemporary fitted kitchen with range cooker is the ideal place to prepare anything from a hearty Lakeland breakfast to a full celebratory dinner for ten. From the hallway the staircase leads to the large landing on the first floor with three bedrooms leading off it; one double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with bath with shower over, a twin bedroom with en-suite shower room WC and a third bedroom with a superking bed and offers an extra single bed and an en-suite shower room with shower, basin and WC. On the second floor there are two further bedrooms a large double bedroom with extra day bed and a twin both of which are complimented with their own en-suite shower rooms. Almost unique for this type of property in Keswick, Number Twenty boasts not only a large patio area with garden furniture, ideal for alfresco dining, but also a large parking area that can easily accommodate four cars. The property also features an Electrical Car Charging Point for Electric Cars. Location Keswick is one of the Lake District's most popular destinations. This friendly town hosts the very popular twice weekly market that has recently won the coveted “Best Outdoor Market” in the Great British Market Awards. The town also offers a fantastic array of shops offering everything from craft bakeries and local produce, antiques, crafts and much, much more. If you are looking for somewhere to eat and drink, a week just won't be long enough to sample the great range of pubs, restaurants, bistros, cafes and wine bars! For a great evening out why not visit the 100 year old Alhambra offering first class cinema entertainment in traditional surroundings or enjoy an evening at “the most beautiful and friendly theatre in Britain”, the 400 seat Theatre By The Lake on the shores of Derwentwater. Enjoy a cruise on Derwentwater, walk onto the fells; Cat Bells, Skiddaw, Coledale Horeshoe and Blencathra are all nearby, head underground at Honister Slate Mines, enjoy mountain biking in Whinlatter Forest; explore the exquisite beauty of Borrowdale and the Scafell range. For day trips throughout the Lake District, Ullswater is a short drive away offering lake cruises, great walking and the beautiful Aira Force Waterfall, Buttermere and Crummock Water offer sublime scenery. The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater.
