“We’ve had a fabulous week here at Marys Cottage, what a fantastic location!”

We have loved the walks from Grasmere to Easedale Tarn, Ambleside and Elterwater! Hot Tub was great for sore feet and a total relax! We had AMAZING food at the Jumble Room, The Inn do great fish and chops. Emma's Deli and the café next door, both gorgeous! The Deck at Ambleside for a Vino!

Had sunshine all week so could have done with a parasol!! Unheard of in The Lakes… Great meals at Lewis’s, The Inn, Heidi’s and also café at the Art Gallery – amazing scones. All in all very sad to leave!

As soon as you go through the gates to Marys Cottage you know you are in for a luxurious treat. You're welcomed by the hot tub, a real luxury in the secluded garden and a must for those warm summer days not to mention a glass or two in the evening gazing at the stars - the perfect antidote after a long walk! == Accommodation In Detail Enter the property and you find an open plan lounge with a cosy modern feel recently refurbished by the owners to the highest of standards where you will find items purchased by the owners from the nearby National Trust gift shop. The comfy sofa and chair sit opposite a wonderful modern log burner, a lovely way to chill and relax watching a film on the Smart TV. If music is more your thing then use the Bluetooth Sonos music system complete with Monitor Audio speakers conveyed through the ceiling. In addition Mary's has BT Superfast Fibre connection perfect for streaming films and games so all your entertainment needs are catered for. The impressive high spec open plan kitchen with quartz worktop, breakfast bar and oak stools has everything you would need to enjoy that hearty Cumbrian breakfast or romantic supper in the warmth of the cosy log burner nearby. The kitchen is well equipped with top of the range appliances including a Bosch oven and ceramic hob, built in microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washer/dryer. The double bedroom is beautifully finished with a double bed, bedside tables and lamps, dressing table and mirror, and also another Smart TV. To the front of the property is private parking for one car. Location Mary's Cottage is a real find with mountain views through every window. To access this head to the bottom of Lake View Drive and through the gate, this will lead to a private walkway to Grasmere Lake. About the location

GRASMERE

Ambleside 5 miles; Windermere 9 miles; Keswick 13 miles.

Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere, probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found". Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family has been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century, and Grasmere Lake. Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere, and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.
