“Rowan at Grasmere was absolutely stunning!”

Perfect location in the heart of Grasmere with views of the surrounding fells. The owners have thought of everything and keep their beautiful home maintained to a very high standard, with lots of thoughtful touches, that were very much appreciated by us!

Complemented by outdoor seating and dining in the splendid garden with panoramic views to the surrounding fells, this house will create glorious memories for years to come. Centrally positioned in the beautiful Lake District, historic Grasmere with its ancient church is just a few minutes stroll away. The village and scenery inspired many artists and poets including William Wordsworth and later helped spark the birth of the National Trust. The choice is yours: stay in and relax or get out and explore. Walks of all kinds start straight from the front door ---wander into the village, amble along the riverside or lakeshore, or put on your boots for famous fell rambles and high-level mountain routes. == Accommodation in detail: Arriving down a private lane and bridge crossing the River Rothay, the high curved stone walls and gated entrance open to reveal the special setting of Rowan at Grasmere with its remarkable garden, generous parking and amazing fell vista. A Lakeland slate-flagged path leads to the front door. The entrance porch has plenty of space for coats, hats, and boots before opening to the inner hall. The living areas of the house are arranged for either relaxed socialising or quiet intimate areas. The lounge features a handsome fireplace of local stone and a log-burning stove to welcome you after a day out. Harris Tweed sofas allow all to soak-up the views of the impressive landscape from the full height windows or enjoy the Smart TV with choices of Freesat, Catch-up TV, or Netflix.
