    “We absolutely love Craig cottage.”

    The cottage is finished to a very high standard and well equipped,bonus of having off street parking and a garden so the dog could stretch her legs. Overall could not fault the cottage we would definitely recommend and we will definitely be booking again.x

Craig Cottage is just a few minutes walk from the restaurants, cafes and bars of Bowness and is within easy reach of Lake Windermere. Accommodation in detail: Arriving at the property, a private parking space greets you before making your way down the stone steps and into the hallway to hang your coats and kick off your shoes. Step into the lounge, beautifully presented and boasting a Smart TV, you can look forward to settling in after an adventurous day. Beyond here, the kitchen / dining room provides a homely and practical setting for your family meals at the dining table; whip up a delicious meal for your group on the electric hob and oven, before taking full advantage of the dishwasher when it is time to tidy up. As the evening draws to a close, head upstairs to get some rest. The first floor hosts a bunk room which is only suitable for children, along with two king-size bedrooms with TVs, so there is plenty of entertainment for the group to enjoy. The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, cinema, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is three miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away.
