A stylish and contemporary Bowness residence in a superb location, only a few minutes up the hill from the village and lakeshore, the elevation giving spectacular views across Lake Windermere to the fells beyond The elegant living space forms a great retreat for families or friends. Sociable areas extend to both a sunny front terrace and peaceful rear patio garden. You'll enjoy views from all 3 bedrooms, but it has to be said the king-size master is a particular treat. Kids (or big kids!) will also be chuffed to find a great little upstairs den. As well as being convenient for attractions and entertainment in Bowness, and of course on Lake Windermere, Lingmoor is also a great base for walking. A wide variety of routes begin on your doorstep, and the property backs onto Brantfell - a fabulous route with fabulous views as you climb. == Accommodation in detail Private parking for 2 cars outside the property. Location On the eastern shores of Lake Windermere and close to Windermere Golf Club, Bowness is a vibrant Lake District village with a wealth of attractions and appeal for all ages. The village has a contemporary shopping street, with supermarkets, delicatessens and everything you could need during a self-catering holiday in the Lake District. There are many family attractions in Bowness. From the famous 'World of Beatrix Potter Attraction', to row boats in the bay and mini-golf on the 'Glebe', you'll never be short of things to do with the kids. Windermere Lake Cruises also depart regularly from Bowness Pier to Ambleside and Lakeside - a great way to explore without taking the car. Lakeside is well worth a visit for families, as you'll find both the Lakes Aquarium and Lakeside & Haverthwaite historic railway to entertain you there. Bowness is probably the Lake District's liveliest spot for evenings out, and there are plenty of options for eating out in Bowness. For a stylish dining try The Postilion Restaurant. For a quirky take on tapas, try 'Lucy4 at The Porthole'. Or take your pick from a number of traditional Lakeland pubs serving real ale and hearty pub food. There are also a number of lively bars in Bowness, as well as the lake shore Wheelhouse nightclub.

The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, cinema, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is three miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. There is also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake. The area is ideally situated for exploring all that this region has to offer, whether by foot, bike, car, railway or bus; and is within easy reach of attractions such as the spectacular Langdales, Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top House at Far Sawrey, Coniston, Grizedale Forest Park, with its delightful walks and famous outdoor sculptures, mountain biking and 'Go-Ape' adventure park, Ullswater, Kendal, Keswick, stone circles, Roman forts and England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike.
