Stroll to the lake shore to hire a row boat or power boat, or take an elegant cruise on one of the Lake Windermere steamers. Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside; a wonderful way to explore without even using your car.
There are several excellent restaurants in Bowness village, within walking distance of Pineview. Jacksons Bistro is a long-standing favourite for stylish dining, while The Porthole or Bodega Sol puts a contemporary twist on the tapas style.
