A stay at The Firs will create truly memorable family holidays, whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just for spending time together. This magnificent 19th century Lakeland house with high ceilings and character is spread over three floors and sleeps ten with five modern and spacious bedrooms 4 ensuite and 1 family shower room. A stylish well equipped kitchen/dining area, lounge and separate sitting room, The Firs is everything you need, offering accommodation you will want to come back to with friends or family! It also has ample parking for 5 cars. The Firs is set in a great location, just off the centre of the ever popular village of Bowness on Windermere and is within an easy stroll from the shores of Lake Windermere Enter through the stained glass door into the hall of this grand residence. On the ground floor are two separate reception rooms. A luxurious lounge, the perfect place to relax for the evening with ample seating on three sumptuous leather sofas, an ornate fireplace and a large smart TV with Sky Q. The sitting room has a large comfortable sofa, two stylish chairs all set around the fireplace and smart TV with Sky Q, it even features a piano. The kitchen/dining room is the heart of the house and a very sociable space. It has a central island with quartz worktops and features high quality, modern appliances with a 5 ring Rangemaster hob, double oven, integral fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Gather round the island or large dining room table to discuss the day ahead over a cup of tea or in the evening for that delicious family meal. The lower ground floor is where the utility room is located and has useful space for boots and coats. A grand staircase leads to the first floor where you can choose from three bedrooms, two zip link superkings - which can be twins upon request and one king size.On the second floor is a superb very large and luxurious master bedroom suite with dual aspect leaded windows and TV. The room features a roll top bath and has an ensuite shower room with large walk in shower cubicle, wc and hand basin. This room oozes charm and character everything you want to rest and relax in. A further bedroom with kingsize bed and ensuite with corner shower and wc is across the landing. To the side of the property is a private garden and patio with garden furniture to enjoy al-fresco living and ample parking for 5 cars. Location Bowness village sits on the eastern shores of Lake Windermere. Access to the lake is only a few minutes' stroll from the village centre at Bowness Bay, where hire boats come and go and Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to both Ambleside and Lakeside. A great way to explore without driving! Looking for somewhere to eat and drink, Bowness has a great choice from top quality pubs, coffee shops and wine bars and with everything from cafes and bistros to fine dining restaurants, there's something to please everyone. Bowness also has a mainstream cinema, and the Old Laundry Theatre offers an interesting programme of performances.

The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter attraction and the Old Laundry theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is less than two miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. There are also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake.
