Lyndsay “We had a very good stay at Brantfield Cottage.”
The house was very clean and in a great location close to shops and restaurants. Do be prepared for a walk up a very steep hill though! We had 1 minor issue and it was sorted by maintenance within the hour.

Stephen “Lovely cottage.”
Great views and only short walk into bowness centre, however steep hill to walk up so not good for infirm or disabled. This should be in description. A few minor details would make it perfect. Nowhere to hang coats or shoe racks near door. Furniture in living room not very comfortable. Plus points, very clean, kitchen well stocked with utensils & condiments. Good bed linen.
- Stephen, June 2021We would like to thank you for your feedback. The owner has advised us that they have added coat hooks near the back door. The property does not have any extra room for a shoe rack however shoes can go in the cupboard in the hallway. Thanks again for staying with us and we hope to welcome you back again soon! Paul “The people that I spoke to at Sykes were very helpful and helped sort a problem that I had without making a fuss.”
Much appreciated
- Paul, May 2021P “The cottage had no provision at all to hang coats anywhere other than in the bedrooms.”
Given that this is The Lake District and the cottage is literally at the beginning of The Dales Way, everyone will be bringing wet walking gear into the house- there needs to be coat hooks downstairs. If there are six people staying and they want to eat together, it is very difficult as, when the kitchen table is pulled away from the wall, the kitchen doors can’t be opened! The neighbours are disputing the cottage’s allocated parking space and refused to move their car from it. There is no other free parking within half a mile.
- P, May 2021Thank you for your feedback from your recent stay at Brantfield Cottage. We're really sorry that you had issues with parking, this is not an issue that has ever arisen at Brantfield Cottage. If you had reported this to us during your stay we would have communicated this to the owner of the property who would have spoken with the neighbours, who she is in contact with. The coat hooks for the property are in the cupboard in the hallway opposite the front door. Again, thank you for your feedback and we really hope you enjoyed your holiday.
