“The house was a great place to relax after a full day out enjoying the Lake District.”

A very clean, and a very quiet house. I trust we left it as clean and tidy as we found it!

    - Mr Hill,

The property

Soak up the sublime setting of this 17th century Lakeland barn. Keeping Bowness village and Lake Windermere close by, you'll escape towards the peace and tranquility of the rural lakes. The Hayloft is full of the character of the original building, but a thorough and stylish refurbishment has created a very sophisticated retreat. The quirky layout includes a truly cosy living room with luxury leather sofas and woodburning stove. A fabulous vaulted dining kitchen (with a few eclectic design features) creates an exceptional space for special meals. Located at the path of the Dalesway, many walks can be started from your doorstep, and several highly acclaimed gastropubs are found close by. This is a fabulous family bolt hole, or alternatively a worthwhile indulgence for a couple to enjoy alone. == Accommodation in detail Private parking for several cars in the courtyard. Entrance through the original barn door into a spacious entrance hall. Welcoming lounge with woodburning stove, adorning beams and contemporary cream leather furnishings. Up a few steps to the superb vaulted kitchen/dining area, with traditional wooden dining furniture and space to entertain. From the entrance hall to the king size second bedroom, shower room and a galleried office with Wi-Fi. Downstairs from the kitchen area to the king sized master bedroom, twin bedroom (both en-suite) and the utility. Outside is a patio area with furniture and barbeque and large driveway, with small grass border. Location The Hayloft stands in a pleasantly peaceful spot, a short drive from Bowness and Lake Windermere alongside Windermere Golf Club. Walks abound in the surrounding area... wander quiet country lanes, admire the damson blossom in springtime, or seek out challenging long routes in the wider Lake District. Windermere Golf course is within easy reach, as well as an intriguing 9 holes at Beckside Farm, Crook. There are plenty of excellent Lake District country pubs to choose from in the surrounding area - as well as your local we recommend the Punchbowl at Crosthwaite for a special meal close to home. For shopping, family attractions and lake shore activities, head to Bowness and Lake Windermere. The lake shore village is packed with sophisticated shops and handy supermarkets, as well as plenty of entertainment for the evening. By day, take a cruise on the lake from Bowness Pier. Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside - what a way to explore without driving the busier tourist routes!
