The lodge is lovely and really secluded but was not clean The carpet was stained and there was dirt around the bin on the floor the floor was definitely not cleaned before we came The 2 sunbeds that where in the advertising where not there The lodge should have pegs on the walls you can’t hang towels or clothes anywhere and with 6 people that’s a big problem Overall we had a lovely stay but I think the lodge needs more maintenance

“The location and lay out of the lodge is brilliant but felt that general care of the lodge was no where near what is required or expected.”

I feel for the owners as they are not local and this is looked after by another company but in general there where alot of things that needed cleaning before we could use, the table was not clean on arrival the flowers that where left (which is a great idea) where clearly old and dead already if you pay for these out of your own pocket I would be questioning this. Most pots needed washing before use. Alot of areas covered in dust. We had to clean mould off the shower and shower head and there was mould around the bedroom window the same window that leaks and water was poring down the window and wall with electric sockets below. Food still on the floor from pervious residents. It's a shame I don't like leaving reviews but think the owner needs to know the lack of care that is going into their property. We also had an issue with the boiler where we had no hot water or heating and it was -1 outside. This was resolved quickly once we finally got through to someone but we were left in the cold for around 6 hours. No instruction manual left for the boiler is not helpful with a note just simply saying do not touch? Cleaning was definitely a massive issue cleaner's clearly give it a very quick once over. The experience was so bad I am also looking into pulling my payment back as this was not the experience sold and will not be coming back to this lodge.

“It was a lovely little lodge and really good value for money, overall the property was great and facilities provided were second to none.”

It was really secure and our pup loved it. The only issue we have was that there was mould behind the bed near the head board, this made us feel a bit uneasy about staying there with knowing the health issues it can cause, we did try to speak to the reception about this as my partner was really unhappy but there was no one there at the time and was unsure who to speak to. How do we contact the property owners etc? But overall we would stay again providing this issue was resolved.

This is unacceptable & if we had known about this it would have been corrected before your stay. This is the first we have heard of this as its LCH that manage our lodge & was not told of any issues until your feedback was posted, we contacted the management company straight away and the issue has now been resolved but again would like to send our sencia apologies. “Really enjoyed the property and location.”

Also, really liked the theme. Parking in the front of the lodge and nice to have a shop/restaurant in the main hall that you can walk to. It was a really great experience. One thing to tell the property owner is the shower is dripping. I’m not sure if they knew and wanted to say something. :)

Some lovely touches to keep the family entertained (books, DVD’s, games) - the fast broadband was most welcome & made it feel like a home from home. It had everything we needed for a great family holiday in the Lake District. Would recommend!

The welcome pack was an especially nice touch. We will definitely return again for another stay - thank you! Please note that leisure passes for the onsite pool are £7.95 per adult and £5.95 per child, not £15 per lodge as stated by Sykes Cottages.

“The lodge was one of the best lodges we have stayed in on the park.”

The lodge was well stocked with the everyday items (apart from a toilet roll ) which wasn’t an issue. The only things that we where a little disappointed in was there was rubbish under the bunk beds crisp packets and sweet wrappers and the dirty bedding had been left in the linen bag in the bathroom from the previous stay. We would be more than happy to book the lodge again. On a note towards lake cottages I have sent a number of emails asking things and to report that the bathroom window would not lock with no replies at all this is disappointing

, very well placed to be able to sit out without being overlooked in decked area. Beautiful lodge with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Close to lots of fabulous villages and National Trust properties. The owners gave thought to amilies with board games and a games console. Would recommend this lodge for your visit to the Lakes.

“Lodge in beautiful location.”

Very peaceful. Easy access to Windermere and Ambleside by foot, car or public transport. The lodge was very warm, clean and welcoming. I might recommend replacing the mattress in blue room, very uncomfortable and caused lack of sleep & back ache. Only so much a mattress cover can relieve. The lock on bathroom window also needs replacing as despite appearing closed it can be opened from outside. Would definitely stay again.

“The lodge is comfortable and clean well equipped and the park is nice not overly big but well located for everything.”

Only thingcto be aware of if coming this year 2021 paperwork states leisure pass is £15 per lodge regardless of how many people which is incorrect its £15 per person which cost us £60 which some people may not have budgeted for. Menu is not very big and the few times we ate there food was warm at best and often things were out of stock. If going to brockhole adventure park which is only 5mins walk from the park check out booking activities early or even before arrival they get booked up quick

Decking area is so spacious and enclosed so you can definitely enjoy privacy while relaxing. Lots of trees and bushes around which makes it better location than the lodges closer to the lake. There are books both for adults and kids, games both board and video, lots of DVDs, honestly everything you need. Up to now definitely one of the top lodges we stayed in based on location, amenities and little touches. Skyes cottages booking team was amazing, thank you for everything you did to help us book this mini mini holiday very last minute (on the day of arrival).

“This is such a nice lodge which is very well kept and cosy.”

There's lots of outdoor space on the decking which is is very secluded and private. It's only a 5/10 minute drive to Windermere which is makes it very convenient. I wish we had booked to stay for longer, we were very sad to be leaving. We'll definitely be looking to return in the near future!

Your lodge is gorgeous and we had such a great time after a tough year. The only very small criticism I would give is that your new sheets were scratchy. They need washing a few times to soften them up. But everything else was superb. We couldn't have asked for more. All the best.
