The property

Surrounded by the rolling countryside of the scenic Lyth Valley in the Lake District National Park is Scarsdale, a pristine detached property, resting in the centre of Crosthwaite, perfect for a large family or group gathering for a special occasion and for those wanting to explore the Lake District National Park from the comfort of a luxurious holiday home. Park on the spacious driveway, which offers space for several cars, and make your way into the large hallway, which offers a pretty window seat, where you can sit and remove your shoes to get comfortable, before exploring the property further. The contemporary kitchen/diner is the hub of the house; fully-fitted with all of the appliances you could wish for, including a traditional Aga range cooker and additional double oven, so you can create culinary feasts for the group to be enjoyed at the dining table, where you can gather on the bench seating and make plans for your upcoming days. The kitchen door leads onto an extensive balcony with glazed balustrade, so you can take a seat with a morning coffee and soak up uninterrupted valley views. Back inside, the utility room offers a washer/dryer, should you need to do any washing after a busy day of adventure in the national park. Make your way into the welcoming sitting room, immaculately presented in a contemporary style, with three sofas to relax on at the end of a busy day, carefully placed around the feature fireplace, which houses a woodburning stove, you can flick on the Smart TV and find your favourite TV shows, and enjoy the incredible garden and valley views available from the dual aspect windows. There are two super-king-size double bedrooms on this floor; both incredible spaces, well-presented with dual aspect windows, ample storage space and immaculate high-quality en-suite shower rooms, while just outside the second bedroom is a children's snug where smaller guest can relax on bean bag chairs and watch their favourite shows on the wall-mounted TV. Make your way up the glass balustrade staircase to the first floor, where a desk space below the skylight offers a place to catch up on work or enjoy a good book. Find the remaining two bedrooms, a king-size double and a twin, both with dual aspect windows, one of which is a skylight, again boasting valley and garden views, sharing use of the white-tiled shower room. Make your way outside to the rear of the property for some truly breath-taking scenery; the wrap-around lawn stretches from the side of the property all the way down to the rolling hls of the Lyth Valley, which rest just beyond the property at the rear. Here you can enjoy alfresco dinners on the patio and discover an orchard, blooming rhododendrons, snowdrops and azaleas, which add fantastic bursts of colour to the space, as well as views of the nearby church tower. The village of Crosthwaite boasts an acclaimed gastropub, The Punchbowl Inn, serving incredible food, which happens to be just a stones throw from the house, perfect for a special occasion or if you fancy a night off from cooking duties. Enjoy plentiful walking and cycling opportunities through the peaceful Lyth Valley, while close by, the lakeside towns of Bowness and Windermere boast watersports activities, canoe and kayak hire, boat hire, tours of the lake, a fantastic golf course and the renowned Jetty Museum. Head to the other side of the lake to explore Beatrix Potter's former farmhouse, Hill Top, now owned by the National Trust, as well as yet more walking and hiking opportunities at Claife Heights and through the National Forest at Grizedale, stopping at Go Ape for an adventure-filled afternoon of zip wiring and traversing tree tops. There are numerous hills and mountains to climb for the more adventurous. Discover the historic market town of Kendal, which boasts hill top 12th century castle ruins that overlook the town, as well as quaint cobbled streets and excellent shopping opportunities. Scarsdale isn't far from the coastline and the elegant town of Grange over Sands and its mile long promenade. Also within easy reach is The National Trust's Grade I listed Sizergh Castle, offering an estate and gardens to explore, as well as Levens Hall, an incredible Elizabethan mansion with a superb Topiary Garden. Make Scarsdale the idyllic base for your next special getaway to the Lake District National Park and beyond.
