The property

The grade 2 listed White Hart House retains all of the charm and character you would expect from a former 17th century Coaching Inn. The three storey cottage is situated in the heart of the beautiful village of Dent in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Dent is ideally located for exploring the Yorkshire Dales but it is also in close reach to the market town of Sedbergh and the Lake District with the village itself residing in the county of Cumbria. This real home-away from home cottage has a wonderful cosy ambiance allowing you to relax and unwind after energetic days out. The property retains stunning original features with oak wooden beams and exposed stone work detailing. Entering the property to the right is a delightful traditional style kitchen which features a large inglenook fireplace complete with a wood burning stove. The limestone flagged floor contains underfloor heating to ensure your comfort at all times. Ample kitchen work space and appliances including fridge/freezer and electric cooker/hobs will allow you to be able to cook and enjoy home made meals which can be served around the large farmhouse kitchen table. The kitchen windows afford stunning views over the Dentdale valley. Upstairs you will find an inviting sitting room finished with traditional stone work and large sash windows looking down onto Dents famous cobbled streets .The room has another wood burning stove so you can look forward to curling up on the sofas to read or watch a film whilst enjoying the warmth of a roaring fire. Completing the first floor is the main bathroom with additional stone detailing, a shower cubicle, WC and hand basin. When the evening draws to a close climb upstairs to the three bedrooms. Two single rooms and a twin room. All bedrooms feature stone work and exposed beams as befitting this grade 2 listed cottage. The windows to the rear of the property offer stunning views over the 12th century church to the Dentdale hills beyond. This property enjoys a central village location with the front door opening onto the much photographed Dent cobbled streets, and whist it only has limited outside space to the rear it is surrounded by the beauty of Dentdale and the towering Whernside one of the famous three peaks located directly behind. The village has two characterful pubs renowned for serving good food along with a number of cafes and a small village shop. The 12th century church of St Andrews is also well worth a visit. About the location

Sedbergh 4 miles; Kendal 15 miles.

Dent is a small village in the dale of Dentdale, and makes a wonderful place for touring both the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. It has a village green together with cobbled streets and a pretty 12th century church. It also has its own brewery producing Aviator Ale, Ramsbottom and Golden Fleece beers – of course these are available in the village pubs to enjoy. The village offers a variety of shops and places to eat and the market town of Sedbergh is only a short drive away. Dent also has a main line station on the Carlisle to Settle railway and crosses giant viaducts at Arten Gill and Dent head before disappearing into the Blea Moor tunnel to Ribblehead viaduct. This is excellent walking country with the “Dales Way” running close by and Whernside, one of the famous “Three Peaks”, to the south.
