Stepping outside the front door a short stroll takes you to the centre of the village with a great choice of local pubs, restaurants and cafes on the doorstep and the local shops are only just moments away. Walk a little further and you are soon away from the hustle and bustle of the town with numerous walks to choose from ranging from low level routes or onto the surrounding high fells. Lake Windermere is within walking distance; ideal for wild swimming, canoeing or of course a romantic evening cruise! Accommodation in detail Located on the second floor, the front door opens to reveal a luxurious, boutique, home from home, which welcomes guests with its contemporary and high-quality finish that is of the very highest standard with superb attention to detail. A few steps take you to your first view of Lake Windermere through the feature glass window. Go through into the stunning open plan lounge/kitchen diner. Again, the views of Lake Windermere from here are just stunning at all time of the year. This stylish area allows you to relax on the comfortable and cosy sofas in the plush surroundings, whilst watching the TV or playing games with the children. Gather round the table and enjoy a dinner with friends or family. Or simply sit at the table looking out the window and watching the world go by. Gather in the morning around the breakfast bar or cook up a culinary treat in the well-equipped kitchen. Convenient for local amenities and access to the fantastic cruising grounds of Lake Windermere as well as the surrounding National Park by foot or car. On the eastern shores of Lake Windermere, Bowness is a sophisticated Lakeland village with a wealth to explore and enjoy. Stroll to the lake shore in Bowness to hire a row boat or power boat, or take an elegant cruise on one of the Lake Windermere steamers. Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside; a wonderful way to explore without even using your car. There are several excellent restaurants in Bowness village, also close by are many Michelin star for stylish dining, while the Porthole and Bodegas & Sol puts a contemporary twist on the tapas style. There are also plenty of traditional Lakeland pubs, both in the village centre and the surrounding countryside. Or better still within the Windermere Marina, less than a mile away, is The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant. Eating out in Cumbria has never been better, and now there is a gem on our door step! Enjoy one of the two fantastic south facing terraces on those lazy summer days, spend a few hours in the bar or book a table in the first floor restaurant for something a little more special or of course enjoy the comfort of your own accommodation back at your very own lakeside boathouse. Windermere Golf Club is just outside Bowness village, on the way to the Lyth Valley. This area is also renowned for gentle but very scenic walking, with a wealth of acclaimed Lake District country pubs to choose from at the end of the day. Close to the village, you'll find Blackwell, The Arts and Crafts House. This impressive property takes a stunning position overlooking Lake Windermere, and has a range of interesting exhibitions. Join the A591 to Ambleside and Grasmere, and you can explore the homes of famous Lake District poet, William Wordsworth. Another great idea is to take the car-ferry crossing, just a couple of hundred yards from your doorstep, over Lake Windermere from Bowness, to visit the former home of Beatrix Potter in Near Sawrey, and the picturesque village of Hawkshead.

The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, cinema, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is three miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away.
