The property

Lord's Leap is a first floor barn conversion based near Hawkshead, Cumbria. It has been tastefully renovated to an immaculate standard, mixing contemporary touches with the classic countryside features. Enjoy the wealth of character from the exposed beams and crackling woodburning stove. The open-plan living area has a selections of sofas and an armchair, ideal for relaxing after a long day. The flat screen TV has a DVD player for you to watch all your favourite films with the whole family. The dining area is on a raised level with seating for up to eight people. Step into the immaculate kitchen with its wooden units and grey tiled worktops, sure to inspire some home cooking. The property has four bedrooms: two double and two twin. With both a separate shower room and bathroom for a choice of a long relaxing soak or a quick shower. The bedrooms are furnished with lovely comfortable beds and a range of wooden furniture to house all your personal belongings. Off-road parking is available. Outside, there is an on-site gym and heated swimming pool for those more active types of people, and a children's play area to keep your little ones engaged. Hawkshead is a wonderful tourist destination, as it is near many attractions. So why not visit Dove Cottage? The former home of one of Britain's most loved poets William Wordsworth. He lived there for nine years, and was the place some of his most famous poems were created. Guests can have guided tours and enjoy the beautiful gardens he designed and planted with his sister. The museum is next door with many exciting exhibitions that change regularly. Lord's Leap is an attraction for those historic enthusiasts.

The picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Visitors can wander the wealth of tiny alleyways, thoroughfares, archways and courtyards between the whitewashed 17th century houses. There are many pleasant inns, teashops, guest houses and gift shops in the village, as well as the Beatrix Potter Gallery, which houses an annually changing exhibition of the famous author’s illustrations and stories. The other famous Hawkshead enthusiast, William Wordsworth, attended the Old Grammar School in 1779-87, which still stands today, and you can visit the building where the Lakeland poet developed his love of the form, and even see the desk into which he scratched his name as a small boy! Newby Bridge is ten miles away and offers attractions such as the Aquarium of the Lakes and Windermere Lake Cruises, sailing daily between Ambleside, Bowness and Lakeside.
