Graham “Lovely apartment perfectly located.”
- Graham, December 2021 -
Mark “The cottage was as described, but not very clean, cobwebs on all windows (inside) also on all the coving that ran around the room walls both in the living area and bed room and wall hangings including the TVs covered in dust.”
Nice and quiet and a great location, washer and dryer was a god send as the weather was inclement and we were really glad of it.
- Mark, October 2021and Mrs “Getting hot water at the kitchenette sink was very hit and miss.”
We finished up boiling a kettle every time we wanted wash up! Would be nice to know if we were expected to put the dustbin and the recycling out on the allocated day! Also where the bin etc. should be placed on the day as neighbours or fellow holiday people get very cross if things aren’t in the right place. We brought our recycling home as we didn’t want to add to the very unattractive pile of rubbish outside the property that is clearly not being dealt with! People will cooperate if things are made clear. I think the owner should be informed!
- and Mrs, October 2021Angela “First the bad, dead insects and dust on the windowsill and lots of cobwebs in the bedroom.”
The door in the bathroom was not clean, the bin in the bedroom had not been emptied and there was food left in the fridge. Outside, I was instructed to park in front of "6", but there were no numbers until the last full day when signs suddenly appeared. The pile of rubbish behind the garage had been there some time and the bins at the front had also not been emptied - I did not see any instructionson which day rubbish was collected, but the recycling and bin behind the garage was a mess, with two further bins at the front both half full. The noise from children in the flat above on the last two nights was tiresome, and guests in flat 5 were also loud, but again only the ast night- not certain either flat was occupied the rest of the week. The good,, the location is absolutely perfect for walking and travelling around the lakes, there is really no need to move the car, with local busses stopping near by. The flat is comfortable and although small, has everything you would need (except somewhere to dry clothes that can't go in the tumble dryer-but perhaps I missed it). A rethink of the layout of the living room would make it very cosy for couples - the current layout has the seats separated by a large coffee table. (There is a second table surplus to requirements that takes up valuable space). The views from every window are amazing, and even with the rain, it was a delight to sit with a drink and watch the world go by. I did not use the garden as it was raining but there was also a dog out there which clearly did not like strangers and the owners appeared to be using the garden as if it were there own personal space. Not an issue with the rain, but would have been a frustration in nice weather.
- Angela, September 2021Hans “Great base for walking holiday, you can leave your car.”
Everything needed is available, nice views from the dinner table, good chairs to relax in, and perfect shower.
- Hans, September 2021James “The apartment was of an excellent standard in a great location a short walk from Grasmere village.”
It had a lovely view from the windows and obviously had been newly refurbished since everything seemed new. The bed was comfortable although the pillows were a small negative - uncomfortable foam with one not enough and two too high. The apartment was ideally suited to our needs, although we have two small recommendations: It would have been useful to have an inventory in advance in order to save on unwanted packing and duplication (tea towels, hairdryer, iron). We were not given the code for the outer door in advance and although usually open, on one occasion found ourselves locked out of the building. Could this code not be added to the key box and laundry room codes given in the initial paperwork?
