The property

Located on a quiet side street close to the centre of Windermere village, just a few minutes' walk from a great selection of shops, bars and eateries, Lily Cottage is a beautiful cottage that has been finished in a contemporary manner to offer quality accommodation in a convenient location. Lake Windermere is an easy ten-minute walk from the cottage and there is a fantastic range of walks from the village which allows visitors to abandon their car for a week and to relax and enjoy the Lake District right from the doorstep. Lily Cottage has been fully refurbished by the owners who have paid great attention to detail to create an excellent property that has been finished to the highest standard. The cottage is presented with an open plan lounge/dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, accompanied by a useful utility room and shower room. On the first floor are two of the three bedrooms, a king-size bedroom and a double bedroom and accompanied by a smart family shower room with large shower cubicle. On the second floor, the final bedroom is a pretty double room. This great quality cottage is ideal for family or friends to relax and enjoy a great holiday whatever the time of year. == Accommodation in detail The front door opens to a high Victorian hallway with plenty of hooks for coats and jackets which leads to a welcoming lounge/dining room with comfortable sofas arranged around a cosy log burning stove and in the corner a Smart TV with Sky. The large family dining table is a great place to gather over breakfast in the morning or to relax over a social dinner in the evening. The well-appointed kitchen has everything you could need during your stay and includes an under-counter fridge, electric hob, electric oven and dishwasher. To the rear of the cottage, there is a handy utility/cloakroom with plenty of space for all your outdoor gear, a washing machine, freezer and a handy sink. Also on the ground floor, there is a small shower room with shower cubicle, basin and WC. Stairs climb to the first floor and the first two of the cottages' three bedrooms. To the front a bright and airy kingsize room and to the rear a welcoming double room. Across the landing, there is a superb family shower room with walk-in shower basin and WC. The final flight of stair take you to the top of the house on the second floor and the final bedroom; a pretty double set in the eves of the house with a Velux window allowing the light to flood in. Guests should be aware that there is limited headroom to one side of this bed. Returning downstairs, to the rear of the property there is a courtyard patio with bistro table and chairs, ideal for a morning coffee or a glass of wine and also there anchoring points for locking mountain bikes. Located on a quiet residential road, the property has plenty of free on-street close by and it is often possible to park on the road directly outside the property. Location This superb Windermere holiday home is located just out of the heart of Windermere and is under a 5-minute walk from the village centre with its local shops, cafes, restaurants and bars and is also within easy reach of Bowness-on-Windermere the popular Lake District holiday location, nestling on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere and alive with all the boating activities of Bowness Bay. Enjoy sophisticated shops, tempting cafes, excellent Lake District restaurants and cosy traditional pubs, or stroll to the pier to hop on a Windermere Lake Cruise to Ambleside or Lakeside - a lovely way to explore without even using your car. Couples, families or groups of friends will find plenty of evening venues to explore and families can take their pick from a range of attractions in Bowness; mini golf on the Glebe, the famous World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, the Royalty Cinema and the Old Laundry Theatre. Enjoying the wider Lake District is simple and easy with a self-catering property in Windermere as your starting point.
