“We stayed for 4 nights in September 2023.”

Overall we had a enjoyable stay but I did find the listing a bit misleading to what we actually found. Similar to other reviews the listing described an Ev charging point which was the main reason I booked the property. In reality there is a 3 pin plug socket in the garage not an actual ev charging point. Also the listing describes Netflix and Prime channels included, In reality you need your own Netflix/Prime accounts to use this option. I also found the bed a bit small for my liking. On a ...

On a more positive note the property is centrally located and a good base for exploring the Lake district. Personally i wouldn't stay here again.

Joiners Nook is a magnificent three-story cottage that is located in the middle of Kendal, a market town in Cumbria. The cottage, which welcomes four guests and has a warm interior and an open-plan living area, is on the edge of the Lake District National Park and is surrounded by a variety of amenities and activities, and is the perfect place for visitors wishing to explore the Cumbrian countryside. Before entering the home and ascending to the first floor, park in the private garage and make use of the EV charging station. Reaching the first-floor, you will then be greeted by a light-filled living space where you can relax on the corner sofa, eat around the 4-seat table with the radio playing in the background, and satisfy all of your culinary needs in the well-equipped kitchen. Refresh in the contemporary shower room on the ground floor before retiring to the bunk room, also on the ground floor, or the king-size room, which is located on the second floor and has an en-suite shower room for your convenience. Make a start on your agenda as soon as you get up by visiting Kendal Museum, playing a round of golf at Kendal Golf Club, or taking a leisurely stroll across Miller Bridge. Next stop, head to Windermere, offering a plethora of attractions including The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, a hike to Stock Ghyll Force, a trip to the Lakes Aquarium, exploring National Trust - Sizergh, the chance to have a picnic in National Trust - Fell Foot Park, or admire the breath-taking views at Holehird Gardens. Take advantage of the chance to paddle across a lake in the Lake District while on one of the many boat tours that provide glimpses of the region and its secret beauty places or make plans to climb one of the many peaks that dot the rural terrain, such as Scafell Pike. Joiners Nook is the place to enjoy it all.

About the location

KENDAL

Windermere 8 miles.

A historic market town with a fine reputation for shopping, Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent and is known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes. Its old cobbled lanes and byways branch off the attractive main street, and the stone ruins of 12th century Kendal Castle sit perched on a hill with views over the town. Visit The Abbot Hall Art Gallery, its regular collection holding portraits by Kendal born George Romney and works by Turner and Ruskin, with other exhibitions through its links with the Tate. Both Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its superb Topiary Garden are nearby, as are limestone escarpments for easy walking, offering thrilling views of the Lakeland Mountains, the Howgills and Morecambe Bay. Kendal itself is ideally placed for exploring South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales and beyond. With other attractions such as Kendal Museum and the Museum of Lakeland Life, the fascinating Quaker Tapestry, Lake Windermere and the wider National Park within easy reach, Kendal provides a superb base for a relaxing break.
