“The cottage was really beautiful - spotlessly clean and in a great location.”

The garden/patio was great for relaxing in. The complimentary tea, coffee, and bread were much appreciated! Only minor issue, it could do with a few more kitchen utensils, such as a decent-sized cafetiere. Other than that we had a fabulous time there, didn't want to leave!

About the location

Bowness-on-Windermere 8 miles.

The small village of Newby Bridge takes its name from the five arched stone bridge built in 1651 over the River Leven. The famous Furness Railway, one of Britain's oldest working standard gauge steam railways, runs between Haverthwaite and Newby Bridge. Visit the Lakeside Hotels and enjoy magnificent views across Windermere and the surrounding fells, or enjoy the Aquarium of the Lakes, where the naturally themed habitats, bring the history of the Lakes vividly to life. Bowness-on-Windermere provides a lovely day out, plus the picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, and admire the views at nearby Gummer's How.
