“On our arrival the outside refuse bin was full.”

This was the same as our time here last year. We had no way of disposing of our waste, there only being one bin. Neighbours, we noticed, had the facilities of managing waste into separate containers ie recycling. Can I also recommend a calendar of bin collection dates so that people know when bins are due to be collected. There was no collection in the full week we there. Heating, although very good, comes on at strange times ie middle of the night - maybe timer needs adjusting?.

Dear Guest, many thanks for your feedback. Responding to each of your points: 1. Waste collection - I can only apologies for the problem with the waste collection. Being a holiday-let property, Edencroft is treated as a commercial property for waste collection and therefore is not on the usual domestic waste collection arrangements in Greystoke Gill. I have a contract with a commercial operator to collect the waste every Monday after guests have been in the property the previous week - I notify them of the dates for collection as bookings are made. There is no collection if no guests have occupied the property the previous week. It was recently brought to my attention that the waste bin was full and I immediately contacted the waste operator who had inadvertently missed the collection at Edencroft. As a result of my call the bin was emptied last Monday and is due to be emptied again tomorrow following the departure of the guests who were in the property the week just gone. The waste operator only collects on Mondays in the Gill. Also the waste operator does not offer a recycling facility on collection; all waste is required to go in the same bag (ie the branded bags left in Edencroft, with instructions as to how to deal with waste). If a guest is especially keen to recycle certain items, the local recycling centre at Flusco has excellent recycling facilities. 2. Outside paths - many thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will have the paths seen to. 3. The runner was designed to protect the carpet in a well-used passageway through to the bedrooms and has rug grip tape attached. However as you have highlighted a possible trip hazard I will have the runner removed from that passageway. 4. Heating - I am keen to ensure that Edencroft is toasty warm especially over the winter. The property is heated by a very effective air source heat pump. Whereas the hot water is on a timer, the central heating is not - it works on the basis that the property is kept at a constant temperature (adjustable by guests) and if the ambient temperature drops below the set temperature the heat pump restarts to bring the temperature back up to target. Full instructions on the operation of the central heating and hot water systems are in the Guest Folder in the kitchen. Again, many thanks for your feedback. I hope you otherwise had an enjoyable stay at Edencroft. Best wishes, The Property Owner. Property Owner
