The property

Nestled on a quiet road in the delightful village of Stainton and over looking the beautiful village green, is this charming end of terrace cottage. Located close to the likes of Ullswater, Pooley Bridge, Penrith and Keswick making it ideal for those wishing to enjoy an outdoors escape and perfect for a couple, group, or family of four seeking to tour the northern area of the Lakes. Open the front door into a spacious hallway with storage for your walking boots and coats. Off the hallway, you will find the wonderful living/dining room where you will be immediately drawn to the homely wood burning stove which can be lit on a cool evening to warm you as you unwind on the sofa with a favourite film streaming on the Smart TV. Gather at the dining table for home cooked meals or a board game amidst the delightful décor. The kitchen boasts shaker style units with integrated appliances, sure to inspire some delicious cooking from any budding chef, with an electric oven and hob, fridge and microwave at your fingertips. A quaint rear yard is perfect for breathing in the fresh morning air with a coffee first thing, and also leads to the lockable outbuilding containing the freezer and plenty of bike storage space. Travel upstairs to two comfortable bedrooms, with a twin room home to pretty yellow and orange accents in the décor with hanging space, and a double room featuring teal hues throughout with a large wardrobe. Feel refreshed with a shower or a long soak in the bathroom where a large corner bath with an overhead shower can be found. The village of Stainton is small and tranquil, whilst still boasting a friendly community spirit. The local pub and village store are a 2 minute walk away, so all you need on your self-catered stay is on your doorstep. There is also a small hotel offering bar snacks and a more formal dining experience. The beautiful Ullswater lake is within easy reach. Home to the world-famous steamer boats and with boat hire available, you can sail along the waters soaking up the scenery. Paths around the water are perfect for easy rambles, whilst plenty of nearby and surrounding peaks present all kinds of hiking challenges to take on including Great Dodd, overlooking Ullswater, Arthur's Pike, and the large more westerly Blencathra and Skiddaw. Whinlatter Forest is also close by and offers plenty of walking and mountain bike trails for all abilities. Keen historians will love visiting the amazing ruins of Lowther Castle & Gardens, a medieval home to the Earls of Lonsdale, as well as Dalemain Mansion & Historic Gardens, a 14th century country house with extensive grounds to explore.The busting town of Penrith is a 5 minute drive away and offers a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as Penrith Castle and Castle Park, perfect for a picnic on a summer's day. The town of Keswick, home to an award-winning market and a fantastic array of shops, ranging from craft bakeries, a butchers and fresh, local produce is also easily accessible. Make memories in the Lakes with your loved ones from the delightful Rayside. The neighbour does have a right of way through the yard.

The small village of Stainton rests on the north-eastern fringes of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria.
