The wonderful sundeck is ideal for lovely summer's days with superb views of the surrounding fells including Loughrigg and Silver Howe. The quality finish, beautiful furnishings and fittings and the outlook from the full length patio doors appeal to young and old alike and if you are searching for a romantic holiday in Lakeland's picturesque and famous setting then this little gem is sure to delight. == Accommodation in detail Having parked your car in the private space right outside the property, a timber staircase leads up to the sun-decked terrace complete with patio furniture. The patio doors lead into the main studio room. This room is spacious and very well planned with sloping eaves, characterful beams, lots of natural daylight. The welcoming and luxurios king size double bed. The comfortable sitting area is set away and includes a large screen TV. The dining area for two is the ideal place for a a romantic dinner for two or a hearty breakfast before a day on the fells.. The quality, contemporary, fitted kitchen includes an electric hob and oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. An inner hallway leads to a spacious shower room with shower cubicle and WC,. A private parking space for one car accompanies the property. This historic Lake District village is famed for its connections with the poet William Wordsworth, who lived in the village at Dove Cottage is open to the public as part of the Wordsworth Museum. Artists will enjoy browsing several watercolour galleries in Grasmere, particularly the Heaton Cooper Studio which displays the Cooper family's famous work as well as that of inspired local artists. The village centre has all the facilities you'll need during your self-catering holiday in the heart of the Lakes. From local shops and supermarket to quaint tea rooms and acclaimed restaurants - the Good Food Guide-listed Jumble Room is a treat for a special occasion and the Michelin Star awarded Forestside is just a few minutes' walk from the cottage. Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere, probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found". Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family have been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century and Grasmere Lake, plus Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland Wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.
