The property

This romantic Lakeland cottage resides in a peaceful setting within the picturesque and popular village of Staveley at the mouth of the breathtaking Kentmere Valley, only a short drive from bustling Windermere. If searching for somewhere special to get away and soak up all the Lakes have to offer, we know you will fall in love with 'Stone Cottage'. Step inside to see how Lakeland character and charm blend effortlessly with the 21st century - this beautiful property is a place to spend precious time together and relax. Staveley itself is a short distance from Windermere and has two country pubs serving good food and real ales, Hawkshead Brewery and a locally famous cafe on the banks of the river, a couple of well stocked shops and post office and a whole host of little interesting shops in the Mill Yard. If you like high or low level walks or mountain biking, this is a paradise as everything is on your doorstep. == Accommodation in detail Park outside in this sleepy village; entrance porch ideal for walking clobber. The living room is full of character and a great place to relax by the warming woodburner, comfy leather sofas with stone flagged floor and deep pile rug. You'll find a Smart TV and a stockpile of books, guides and maps, as well as games to relax with on cosy evenings in.The dining area leads into the neat kitchen which has all you need and from here you enter the totally relaxing conservatory - what a place to escape too. Head upstairs to the beautiful king size bedroom and luxurious bathroom, don't forget the private delightful garden providing the perfect space for al-fresco dining. Location A holiday cottage in Staveley places you at the heart of a real Lakeland community, rather than primarily a tourist destination. The pretty village lies at the gateway to the Kentmere Valley, in a convenient location between Kendal and Windermere. Staveley is alive with artisan crafts and art galleries, but it's also an absolute treat for foodies. In the Staveley Mill Yard, you'll find the famous More? Artisan Bakery, the popular walkers' cafe 'Wilf's Cafe' and also the award-winning Hawkshead Brewery and Beer Hall (selling 'beer tapas' bar food.) You'll have to try them all! Just down the road from Stone Cottage is the Eagle & Child - one of the most highly-regarded pubs in the area and a perfect choice for a special meal out. To stock up your kitchen and explore further afield, you only need drive a few miles on the A591 to Windermere village. There, you'll find a high class Booths supermarket and many other useful shops. From Windermere village, the A591 provides your main route into the heart of the Lakes, making Staveley a very convenient Lake District holiday base.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
