“The views from the cottage were outstanding.”

Great walking on the doorstep. Close to pub and shop and reliable public transport. Unlike most properties the pictures on the website did not do justice to the interiors - which were much better than displayed.

    - Mrs Wilkinson,

The property

Cosy, unique and gazing out over the Langdale Valley through a fabulous full wall window... this ground floor retreat is a place to spend precious time together and an outstanding base for walkers. The Langdale Retreat forms part of a larger property which enjoys a slightly elevated setting in the sleepy village of Chapel Stile. The open plan living area and two bathrooms provide ample space even for sharing couples to spread out and relax. Prepare sociable evenings in the large kitchen, head out into the hills from the doorstep, and make the most of your excellent local pub on the way home! On warmer days, you'll love taking drinks and meals outside to the scenic sun terrace. == Accommodation in detail Private parking for 1 car. Set in the village of Chapel Stile, the self-catering Lake District cottage offers a peaceful location. But with many of the region's attractions are easily accessible, as are some of the gems found off the beaten path. Located at the head of the Langdale Valley, Chapel Stile is only 4 miles from Ambleside and Lake Windermere, and all the attractions and entertainment they have to offer. Ambleside is a good place to stock up for self-catering, exploring cafes and even visiting historical sites. Or maybe you want to take a scenic cruise on one of the steamers from Ambleside to Lakeside or Bowness? Chapel Stile village itself has a small shop, a cafe and an acclaimed Lake District country pub, The Wainwrights Inn. Stroll further into the Langdale Valley and you'll find the peaceful atmosphere and spectacular views continue... with a few more noteable pubs on the way. This location is an obvious choice for a walking holiday in the Lake District. A hike to England's highest tarn, or to the spectacular Jake's Rake ridge, begin almost on your doorstep.
