Location This fabulous Troutbeck holiday let property enjoys the scenic surroundings of the Troutbeck Valley, which lies between Windermere and Ambleside village. To the north via the dramatic Kirkstone Pass road is picturesque Ullswater. The Troutbeck Valley is popular with walkers, photographers and those who love to do nothing but admire the scenery! There are a number of walks to enjoy in the area, ranging from a leisurely stroll around Brotherswater to an exciting trek on the Wansfell Ridge. Whatever you get up to, you'll be tempted by a meal or a pint of real Lakeland ale at the Mortal Man Inn in Troutbeck - One of the best country pubs in the Lake District. Despite the air of seclusion, you only need travel a few miles to reach Windermere - with shops, Booths supermarket, cafes and restaurants on offer. There are plenty of family attractions only a few miles further away in Bowness village, including the World of Beatrix Potter attraction, lake shore mini golf, cinema, the 'Old Laundry Theatre' and Windermere Golf Club. Follow the A591 north and you'll reach Ambleside on the northern shores of Lake Windermere. Windermere 3 miles; Ambleside 4 miles.

The small Lakeland village of Troutbeck can be found between its more famous neighbours Windermere and Ambleside, close by the Kirkstone Pass. A mixture of houses, cottages and farms, the village is scattered along a narrow lane bordered by a drystone wall. Many of these buildings date back to the 17th Century with features such as mullioned windows and heavy cylindrical chimneys and the northern end boasts its own 17th century inn. Close by, the bustling towns of Windermere and Ambleside are popular with visitors, providing a range of amenities to suit all tastes. Lake Windermere offers boat trips, including the lakeside ferry to the Lakeside Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park. The ‘Windermere Steamboat Museum’ displays a fascinating collection of boats whilst children will enjoy the ‘World of Beatrix Potter’ in Bowness, where technology brings her characters to life. Within easy reach of destinations such as Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains, Troutbeck is ideally situated for exploring all that the region has to offer.
