Need non slip mats for both showers. En suite shower, constant drip from unit. Could do with an empty cupboard for food. Parking tight for Vectra

“This is a spacious comfy flat in a quiet but handy location for Ambleside town and good walks.”

The views from the lounge & kitchen windows are awesome, I could just sit and look out all day. The balcony is useful but can get a bit hot in the sun. Parking is tight (as usual for the Lakes) but there is additional space in the street. The property is excellent value for money. We have stayed twice now and it's a favourite so we will return.

Three comfortable bedrooms, one with an ensuite shower room, are a perfect retreat at the end of the day and are complimented with a luxurious shower room with a large walk in shower. Outside there is a large shared garden with picnic bench and purpose built BBQ structure - please bring your own disposable type as no grill in place. A car can be parked outside the garage door with a second car parking space in the communal parking area. Location Whilst you are not enjoying the view from Ambleside Heights, enjoy the walk to the nearby Stock Ghyll Falls of for those looking for longer walks from the door spend the day exploring the shores of Rydal Water and Grasmere and exploring the delightful village of Grasmere. For those seeking to explore the higher fells the ever popular Fairfield Horseshoe can be accomplished directly from the door, one of Lakeland's most rewarding fell walks. Rydal Mount and Gardens, the home of William Wordsworth, will inspire gardeners and literary fans alike and when it comes to place to eat, drink and shop, well you are spoilt for choice with all Ambleside has to offer.

Windermere 4 miles; Grasmere 4 mile; Keswick 15 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
