    “Great location for the village.”

Wasn’t enough hooks to hang coats etc nowhere to put muddy boots . Shed to front but full of paint etc. shower temperature would not alter. Bring your own condiments . It’s a lovely cottage just not as many nice finishing touches as some of the other places we have stayed in

Fall in love with the pretty traditional decor; wood beams, stable door, local-stone fireplace... warm in winter and bliss in summer as you take to the patio to admire the view across to Heron Pike. == Accommodation in detail On-lane parking for medium-sized car, just outside the house. Approach via a flight of stone steps. Open-plan ground floor living area includes wide window with splendid views, T-shaped sitting space with woodburning stove, and french door to small back patio. Space for boots and coats under the stairs, which lead to one double bedroom and one spacious bedroom with zip link bed which can be made into a twin or super king (please specify when booking). Upstairs house luxury shower room with walk in monsoon shower. Location Grasmere lies right at the heart of the Lake District National Park, and is renowned for the scenic surroundings that inspired William Wordsworth to write his best-loved poetry. From your quaint country retreat, stroll to the lively village centre, stock up at the supermarket, admire art galleries and relax in excellent restaurants and cafes. Don your boots and explore a range of short walking routes that surround Grasmere and Rydal Water. Short drives take you to Easedale Tarn or the start-point of an ascent of Helvellyn. About the location

GRASMERE

Ambleside 5 miles; Windermere 9 miles; Keswick 13 miles.

Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere, probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found". Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family has been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century, and Grasmere Lake. Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere, and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.

Please note this property has a zip link bed. This will be made as a twin by default. Please contact the call center should you wish it to be a super king.
