Accommodation in detail
Entrance hall with lots of space for walking clobber and a useful 6th WC / wash room. Enter the living space, catch your breath gazing at the views, this is a relaxing space with vaulted ceiling complete with adorning beams and a plethora of picture windows as well as access to the glass balcony. The furnishings are literally sumptuous and an oak staircase leads up a few steps to the sophisticated kitchen / dining area. A brilliant design in this kitchen and with everything you could want including a red & white wine fridge. The dining area opens onto the balcony and what a backdrop. The stairs go up to the top floor with two luxury bedrooms, ingeniously designed and finished and one with en-suite monsoon shower room and the other with private bathroom complete with designer roll top bath and separate monsoon shower cubicle; each bedroom even has clever owl lights as no character is lost here, and one is a king size and the other either a super-king size or twin so please let us know how you would like it when booking your holiday? From the living floor the stairs go down to two further king size bedrooms each with glass doors leading to the gardens and one with private terrace including furniture; both bedrooms have luxurious en-suite monsoon shower rooms. On this level is the useful utility room housing the washing machine & tumble dryer and there is a 5th WC & was basin, then access to the slate boot room and the conservatory which of course leads out to the patios and gardens, a real feature of this truly desirable place.

There are a handful of traditional cottages here, as well as the all-important Outgate Inn. Perfect after a day on the fells!
A self-catering cottage in Outgate makes a great base for walking in the Lake District. The property is surrounded by scenic strolls for all abilities, and there are many famous Lake District walking routes nearby including a path to Hawkshead starting via a gate straight from the gardens of your property. The Langdale Valley is only a short drive away, overlooked by the famous Langdale Pikes and offering wonderfully scenic valley strolls. Coniston water and the Coniston Old Man fell walk are also within easy reach.
There are also some lovely routes surrounding Hawkshead, such as Tarn Hows and Easedale Tarn. In the surrounding countryside, you'll explore the landscapes that inspired the author Beatrix Potter. You can also visit her former home, Hill Top, at Near Sawrey.
For sophisticated shopping, acclaimed Lake District restaurants and the delights of Lake Windermere's shores, head to Ambleside. It's only a few miles away and the perfect place to stock up the kitchen. A short stroll will take you from the village centre to Waterhead Pier. From there, Windermere Lake Cruises provide a scenic route to Bowness and Lakeside.
