For example, follow the A591 road north past tranquil Rydal Water and you'll reach historic Grasmere; this magical village is surrounded by the landscapes that inspired the poet William Wordsworth. Follow the A593 only a short distance to the Langdale Valley (one of the most popular locations for photography in the Lake Ditsrict) then on to picturesque Coniston. For a romantic Sunday drive, head to the Kirkstone Pass road which leads between Windermere and Ullswater.
