Only a stroll away, you'll find sophisticated shops, tasty eateries and a wide range of pubs and restaurants. The village has a cinema, a theatre and also boasts the famous World of Beatrix Potter attraction - a favourite for the kids.
But the real attraction of a holiday cottage in Bowness is the proximity to Lake Windermere. Stroll down to Bowness Bay and you'll be able to catch an unforgettable cruise on one of the steamers; they carry passengers the full length of the lake with stops at Ambleside and Lakeside.
