Crandy Nook is approached down a lane to the rear of local shops in the centre of Keswick. The outdoors steps lead to the front door which opens onto a landing with a utility room with washer / drier and ample coat hanging and boot storage. Over this and the next floor there are a double bedroom, a single bedroom and a family bathroom on each floor. All the bedrooms are well furnished with matching light oak furniture and comfortable beds, the double rooms, to the front of the property offering views over the town to Skiddaw and the north and the single rooms to the rear offering views to Walla Crag and the south. The two matching family bathrooms are finished to a high standard each offer a bath, walk in shower cubicle, basin and WC.
On the top floor, with vaulted ceiling the open plan lounge / kitchen dinner is a cosy haven in which to relax and socialise. The contemporary kitchen is well equipped and a great place to cook up everything from a hearty breakfast before a day on the fells or relax in the evening around the large family dining table with family or friends.
The owners welcome one well behaved dog but due to the town centre location this property does not have its own garden but the popular Fitz Park is located just a couple of minutes' walk away.
Keswick is one of the Lake District's most popular destinations. This friendly town hosts the very popular twice weekly market that has recently won the coveted “Best Outdoor Market” in the Great British Market Awards. The village also offers a fantastic array of shops offering everything from craft bakeries and local produce, antiques, crafts and much, much more.
If you are looking for somewhere to eat and drink, a week just won't be long enough to sample the great range of pubs, restaurants, bistros, cafes and wine bars! For a great evening out why not visit the 100 year old Alhambra offering first class cinema entertainment in traditional surroundings or enjoy an evening at “the most beautiful and friendly theatre in Britain”, the 400 seat Theatre By The Lake on the shores of Derwentwater.
Enjoy a cruise on Derwentwater, walk onto the fells; Cat Bells, Skiddaw, Coledale Horeshoe and Blencathra are all nearby, head underground at Honister Slate Mines, enjoy mountain biking in Whinlatter Forest.
For day trips throughout the Lake District, Ullswater is a short drive away offering lake cruises, great walking and the beautiful Aira Force Waterfall, Buttermere and Crummock Water offer sublime scenery. Ashness Bridge and Surprise View situated above the Borrowdale Valley should not be missed and perhaps even a cup of tea and homemade cake in the unspoilt village of Watendlath.
