This beautiful converted barn resides in a picturesque setting overlooking this lush green valley, only a few hundred yards from the renowned Mason's Arms at Strawberry Bank, within an original farm. Characterful Lakeland externally yet step inside to see contemporary finish throughout. With a feeling of complete seclusion, approached via a quiet leafy lane, this is an unforgettable place to soak up panoramic countryside views and recharge away from the rush. But remember, you're never too far from excellent pub dining and all the entertainments of Windermere Lake shore. Flexible changeover days, please enquire within! Location This beautiful Lake District holiday cottage takes an enviable rural location; overlooking the serene Lyth Valley but still only a few miles from shops, restaurants, pubs and Lake District family attractions in Bowness. To the east of Lake Windermere, the Lyth Valley's peaceful landscapes provide a quieter alternative to the hustle bustle of popular Lake District holiday destinations such as Bowness and Ambleside. The valley is renowned for its wonderful walking, down quiet leafy lanes or up onto the fells to overlook Lake Windermere. The famous Gummers How walk begins only a short drive from your door and promises one of the finest lake views in the Lake District from its manageable summit. It's also perfectly followed by a meal at the Mason's Arms at Strawberry Bank - one of several acclaimed Lake District country pubs nestled in the valley. For family entertainment, sophisticated shopping and lively nightlife you're only a few miles from Bowness village. You'll also find family entertainments such as the World of Beatrix Potter, mini golf by the lake, hire boats and row boats in the bay, and the opportunity to take a cruise on one of the Windermere Lake steamers. The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, cinema, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells.
