Accommodation in Detail
Greenbank House consists of the main house and attached annex. The main house is arranged over two floors. The bottom floor has a twin bedroom and double bedroom. The double bedroom has large windows and door opening out to the private mature garden. On this floor there is also a bathroom with bath, walk in shower and separate W.C. In addition, there is a kitchen and breakfast room.
A small flight of stairs leads from the large porch to the hallway that runs the length of the property, opening onto the large lounge with log burning stove and TV. The lounge and dining areas are located on the first floor to make the most of the unsurpassed views the property has to offer. The dining table is positioned in the conservatory, so you can make the most of the outlook while enjoying your food. The living accommodation on this level is complemented with a large kitchen complete with all the amenities that you could need. There are two bedrooms also on this floor; a dual aspect double bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC and a twin bedroom; along the corridor is a family shower room.
To the front of the property is the annex, also on the ground floor, it consists of a large bedroom suite, complete with sitting area offering beautiful views and door to the garden and a TV. The bright and airy double bedroom is served by the well-appointed bathroom with bath and shower over.
Skelwith Bridge is just 3 miles from Ambleside and Grasmere (via Red Bank) and 5 miles from Coniston. Located in Great Langdale, which offers countless gentle or challenging walks conveniently starting from your door. To eat or drink you are spoilt for choice, with 'Chester's By The River' just a short walk away (perfect for breakfast or much more), the adjacent Skelwith Bridge Hotel for meals or beer and you also have 'The Drunken Duck' fine dining pub just up the road, which is a firm favorite with all; whether it's a pint of one of the famous 'Barngates' beers or dinner in the restaurant, it really is worth the visit.
The nearby village of Elterwater is a delight to behold, and can be reached via a path alongside the tumbling river and within the village is the Britannia Inn - a quintessential Lake District tavern serving great food and real local ale.
