Entrance hall leads into beautiful beamed lounge with views to the famous 'Lion & Lamb'. Country kitchen / dining room with family-size dining table and patio doors to private patio area. One double bedroom with king sized bed and modern bathroom on this level ground floor. The double bedroom is downstairs on lower level, with shower room and access to rear garden. Upstairs on the first floor, there is one twin bedroom, one single bedroom plus 3d WC / wash basin. The delightful cottage garden contains a utility room for drying walking gear or storing bikes.
Right at the heart of the Lakes, Grasmere is renowned for its rural charms and links with the famous poet William Wordsworth. He lived in Grasmere, in Dove Cottage (open to the public) whilst creating his most renowned work, and was inspired by the scenery you'll enjoy from the windows of your self-catering cottage. His grave in the village, is one of the world's most visited literary shrines.
Grasmere itself is a wonderful place to spend a self-catering break; a charming village centre to explore, with Lakeland art galleries, tasty delicatessens and a Co-op mini market for your self-catering kitchen, and plenty of tempting tea rooms and restaurants. Rydal Water and Ambleside are nearby, and the village sits just off one of the main navigating routes through the Lake District.
