Accommodation in detail
Level access from the roadside via a gated pathway up to porchway, leading into lounge/diner. Alternatively, from the gravelled and flagged patio the side door to the cottage opens to a well-planned kitchen which in turn leads to cheerful lounge /diner with windows to front and rear, original characterful beams, comfortable sofa and armchair, feature fire place, Smart TV and family dining table (seats 6). The kitchen is well equipped with electric hob and oven, fridge/freezer, and microwave. The downstairs utility / cloak room is home to the washing machine and convenient second WC and washbasin.
The steep cottage stairs climb to the first floor. To the front of the cottage is the welcoming master bedroom with double sized feature bed. The second bedroom is furnished with adult (3ft) sized bunk beds making the cottage ideal for families with teenagers or adult couples. The two bedrooms are complemented by a quality family shower room equipped with power shower cubicle, basin and WC.
To the side of the cottage there is private patio area which is a real suntrap and is just the spot to sit and enjoy a good book on a summer's afternoon. The cottage offers roadside parking.
The cottage neighbours the friendly, family run, Pig and Whistle pub and bistro offering a great choice of fresh, local produce and is a great place to wine, dine, and to meet the locals!
Offering stunning views of the South Lakeland District fells and countryside, the sleepy picture postcard village of Cartmel has grown up around its famous 12th Century medieval Priory Church. It is a special place where ancient history and tradition mingle effortlessly with the present day. Very close to the southern tip of Lake Windermere and within 30 minutes of Grizedale Forest and the bustling Lake District towns of Bowness on Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere and the market town of Kendal.
