Bowness is a popular Lake District holiday destination on the eastern shores of Lake Windermere. With many contemporary shops, supermarket and amenities, you'll find everything you could need during your self-catering stay in the Lakes.
There are a number of family attractions in Bowness itself, including the World of Beatrix Potter, mini golf and tennis on 'The Glebe' and of course the delights of the lake shore itself. Stroll to Bowness Pier and you'll find power boats and row boats for hire, as well as the famous Lake Windermere steamers. Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Ambleside village and Lakeside. At Lakeside you'll find the fascinating Lakes Aquarium and one end of the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway experience.
