Private parking for 1 car within the grounds of the property. Entrance hall leading to the living / dining room, with a wonderful view and fitted oak to match the open-plan kitchen. This room is comfortably furnished but has limited dining facilities due to its size. Both double bedroom and twin bedroom enjoy the fabulous outlook, and share a contemporary bathroom with shower over bath. The grounds and gardens are a real feature, visited by a host of wildlife including deer!
Waterhead is on the northern shores of Lake WIndermere, and only a stroll away from the centre of Ambleside village. Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly from Waterhead Pier, to ferry passengers the full length of the lake with stops at Bowness and Lakeside. Evening cruises are also available, with buffet meals and live music - check the website for sailing times.
Ambleside itself is a wonderful place to while away a day, or even an entire holiday. Steeped with history and scattered with traditional Lake District cottages, the contemporary shopping streets have a lovely atmosphere. Stroll out for breakfast in one of the many caf?s or bakeries, pick up a picnic at Lucy's of Ambleside delicatessen, visit historic sites such as Bridge House and Galava Roman fort, and admire a breathtaking backdrop of Lakeland Fells.
Ambleside's location makes it an ideal base for walking in the Lake District. Many great routes begin in the village, the A591 leads you past Rydal Water to Grasmere, and the Langdale Valley and Coniston are only short drives away.
