Park right outside; entrance hallway with access to the open plan living space. Take your first glance at that view through the glass doors leading onto your balcony, the living space has sumptuous furnishings and the open plan kitchen has all you may need. One and a half miles from the main lakeside town of Bowness on Windermere, on the eastern shores of this lake, Bowness is a sophisticated Lakeland village with a wealth to explore and enjoy. Stroll to the lake shore in Bowness to hire a row boat or power boat, or take an elegant cruise on one of the Lake Windermere steamers. Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside; a wonderful way to explore without even using your car.
There are several excellent restaurants in Bowness village, also plenty of traditional Lakeland pubs, both in the village centre and the surrounding countryside. A mile away in the directions of Hawkshead you will find Far Sawrey, a picture postcard hamlet with small shop / Post Office and an excellent pub / restaurant serving great food and real ales. A little further to visit the former home of Beatrix Potter in Near Sawrey, and then picturesque Hawkshead with cobbled streets and more tempting eateries.
Windermere Golf Club is just outside Bowness village, on the way to the Lyth Valley. This area is also renowned for gentle but very scenic walking, with a wealth of acclaimed Lake District country pubs to choose from at the end of the day.
Close to the village, you'll find Blackwell, The Arts and Crafts House. This impressive property takes a stunning position overlooking Lake Windermere, and has a range of interesting exhibitions.
Join the A591 to Ambleside and Grasmere, and you can explore the home of famous Lake District poet, William Wordsworth.
